My dog Abby needs a lot of exercise, as do all dogs. So we walk a lot. I did the math one day and approximated that we walk about 700 hours a year together. I redid the math. And then I redid it again. It still came out the same. That number stressed me out a little, so I put her to work to try to create a series of photographs from those walks that countered, or at very least chipped away at, the anxiety of time.
The Abbstracts are the final result; a collection of images from our strolls in the Fraser Valley together. A series about mindfulness, pictorial space and play.
